Lions Poetry Competition

 Rules:

The competition is open to anyone aged between 7 and 16 the age being under that on the 1st of April in the year of the competition. There are 2 age groups
Group 1 are 7-10 year( Key stage 2 or years 3,4,5 & 6 in Junior School)
Group 2 are 11 - 16 years (Key stage 3 & 4, years 7,8,9 & 10 in senior school)
Poems must not exceed 40 lines and entries must be in English.
Poems must be typed on one side only of one piece of A4 paper in no more than two columns. The entry should be anonymous, ie no author name or age is to appear on the paper.  The A4 Entry is to be accompanied by an attached to the entry form.
Poems must be entirely the work of the nominated child and should be original i.e they should not have previously been published or entered into other competitions.
The closing date of the competition is 15th December 2016. Initially, the local Lions clubs will administer the competition.  The club will confirm receipt of the entry, arrange for judging and announce winners.
The winners of Club competitions will then be entered into a district competition to take place before the 31st of January in the following year and a prize will then be awarded to the winner of each age group.
